Calvin is a 3rd year student at UCLA majoring in Business Economics. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fountain Valley HS in 2016, involved in various clubs such as National Honor Society and Leadership and Service Team. Lettering his sophomore and junior year in basketball, he holds the FVHS record for most 3’s made in a single game (9). He also played AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) basketball for HB Next Level and Wintersburg, helping his team win the Southern AAU Regionals, qualifying for 2011 National Championships in Virginia, along with other national tournaments in Orlando, Las Vegas, and Arizona. While basketball has been a big part of Calvin’s life, it is not the skills on the court that he is proud of but the lessons of leadership, perseverance, and toughness that he carries along with him everyday. Currently, Calvin is an Investment Banking Analyst Intern in Los Angeles, hoping to pursue a career in the media, entertainment, and sports industries.

Ryan Dang - Associate Director

Ryan is a 2nd year student at UCLA, majoring in Business Economics with a pre medical focus. He graduated from La Quinta HS, ranked 3rd in his class and awarded the Senior of the Year. At LQHS, he founded the LQ Chess Club and was involved in ASB. A 3 year letterman and captain his Senior Year, Ryan received the Coach's award for his leadership. He played AAU for Beast Up Athletics, whose team constantly ranked top 10 in SoCal. Coach Ryan and Coach Calvin have been good friends and teammates for 10 years. Basketball has been a game that has fostered growth in Ryan’s life, and he hopes to recreate these experiences with the players he coaches. Currently, Ryan is a volunteer at Ronald Regan Hospital in Los Angeles, hoping to pursue medical school after graduation.

Brian Hoang - Head Player Development Coach

Brian is a 2nd year student at OCC hoping to transfer to UCLA as a biology major. He has played basketball for 10 years on various teams, and still plays today in a men’s adult league. Brian won NJB sectionals, and in his freshman year he was a co-captain on the freshmen team (with Calvin and Duy), leading his team to a Sunset League Championship. The following year, he was awarded the Coach's Award on JV. He has also coached 2 seasons for the Boys and Girls Club League. Brian hopes to leave an impact on the players he has the pleasure of working for by passing down his love for basketball and teaching them to reach their full potential in not only basketball but life. Upon graduation, Brian plans to go to medical school with the goal of becoming a radiologist.

Duy Nguyen - Head Player Development Coach

Duy is a recent graduate from OCC, and will be transferring to a four-year university in the fall, majoring in biology. Duy began playing AAU for So Cal All Stars in 7th grade, and was mentored by extremely high level coaches. His freshmen year, he was a co-captain with Calvin and Brian, leading the team to a 23-4 record and claiming the Sunset League Championship. Today, Duy still remains around basketball, as he is a scorekeeper for top high school prospects. As a coach, he wants to teach today's youth how to play the game the correct way. Upon graduation, Duy plans on pursuing a career in the STEM field.
